A pair of longtime public officials in Gainesville will be honored with the Quality of Life Award from the Gainesville-Hall County Community Council on Aging on Thursday night at the Gainesville Civic Center. Myrtle Figueras and Bob Hamrick, who both retired from the Gainesville City Council at the end of 2015, will be the recipients of the award being given out for the second year. Dr. Henry S. Jennings Jr. was the first recipient last year.
