The human remains found Friday in a vacant Gainesville lot have been identified as a Gainesville man, police said.

Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said the remains were of Ricky Sealey, 58.

Sealey had been reported missing, Holbrook said.

Police did not release any further information, as authorities await further results from an autopsy.

Officers discovered the remains around 2 p.m. Friday at a lot on Jesse Jewell Parkway at Dorsey Street.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the case.
