Kindergarten registration for Hall County school system children starting school this fall will take place at each of Hall County’s elementary schools from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 30 through April 1 and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 2.

Children not enrolled in Hall County schools who will be entering first grade should preregister during this time, too.

To start kindergarten, children must be 5 on or before Sept. 1, and to start first grade, students must be 6 on or before Sept. 1. Parents must present the child’s birth certificate; proof of current residence (lease agreement, power bill, etc.); Certificate of Immunization (Form 3231, Rev. 1-2000); Social Security number (parents may elect to sign a waiver if they prefer not to give the Social Security number); and the certificate of ear, eye and dental examinations (Form 3300).

A kindergarten teacher will administer a short school readiness assessment to each child as part of the enrollment process.
