Power outage affected Green Street area
An officer directs traffic at the intersection of Ridgewood Avenue and Green Street where a power outage affected the traffic light.

Power was restored by 3:30 p.m. Friday to most customers in the Green Street and Park Hill Drive areas of Gainesville.

Georgia Power officials said they were trying to determine the cause of the outage.

Scott Cagle with Hall County Fire Services said a tree was down in the area.

Initially, the outage affected about 1,750 customers, but power likely was rerouted so it could be restored to all customers except for those closest to the problem, Georgia Power spokesman John Kraft said.
