Ed Asbridge gets to keep the office he won just a few months ago in a special election, easily defeating political newcomer David Griscom.

Who is he: A retired businessman, Asbridge has long been involved in community affairs, including the South Hall Republican Club.

How he reacted: “I campaigned just as hard as I did (during the special election). I’m overwhelmed by the support that I’ve had.”

On the issues: He has said he wants to ensure that growth is “strategic and along the guidelines of the (city’s) comprehensive plan,” traits that will be important as the city updates its plan next year.

What’s next: His first four-year term starts Jan. 1.

Flowery Branch City Council, Post 2
