ATHENS — Police in Athens say officers searching for the suspect in the fatal shooting of a police officer surrounded a house.

Police Capt. Clarence Holeman said late Thursday morning that officers were still surrounding the house about an hour after they arrived. He says no arrests have been made.

The house is near Ben Epps Airport, where police have been searching for 33-year-old Jamie Hood. He is accused of fatally shooting 34-year-old officer Elmer "Buddy" Christian on Tuesday afternoon. Hood is also accused of shooting officer Tony Howard, who is recovering from his wounds.
