A Gainesville man is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend’s two birds following an argument, police said.

Tristan Dwayne Edison Jones, 21, was charged with two counts of aggravated animal cruelty.

He was booked Feb. 7 in to the Hall County Jail and released five days later.

Gainesville Police Chief Jay Parrish said Jones was lawfully in a Cardinal Drive home on Feb. 7.

“He got into an argument with the victim.  He killed the victim’s two birds and destroyed a fish tank and TV,” Parrish wrote in an email.

Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said Jones was the victim’s ex-boyfriend.

Five fish were listed in the report.

Attorney Brett Willis declined to comment.
