The body of a man found dead Tuesday afternoon in Buford has been identified.

Christopher Landress, 37, of Buford was found after Gwinnett County Police responded at 3:45 p.m. to call of suspicious activity near a house in the 2000 block of Flowery Branch Road, the police said in a news release.

The caller said Landress’ body was found close to a green pick-up truck and it appeared he may have been dead for several days, authorities said.

Officers observed the victim lying face down on the ground, the release said, and they notified Criminal Investigations Division, Crime Scene Unit and the Medical Examiner’s Office, who responded to the scene.

The medical examiner found no immediate visible signs of external trauma, according to authorities, and an autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.

The pick-up truck was taken to police headquarters to be processed.
