The Silent Partners for the Kids are set to have their first Pirates of Lanier-Castaway Poker Run on Saturday. The event will begin at 10 a.m. at Holiday Marina, and there will be a chance to win a grand prize of $75,000.

"If your hand matches the generated hand, you win," event organizer Steve Damas said. "People do win ... and the festivities will continue through the evening."

There is space for 200 boats, which can include performance, pontoons, run abouts, ski and cruiser-style boats.

All poker run participants are encouraged to dress in pirate attire, and there will be prizes and giveaways for "Best Dressed Crew-Admirals Ahoy," "Worst Dressed Crew-Gilligan’s Grunge," "Best Decorated Boat-Pride of the Fleet" and "Worst Decorated Boat-Shipwrecked Sally’s."

The entry fee costs $75 per boat, and extra hands cost $25 each.

Friday night will kick off the weekend with the Captain’s Party at Holiday Marina, and there also will be a party at 2 p.m. after the main event Saturday at Aqualand Marina.

"The festivities will continue throughout the evening," said Damas, who added there will be a raffle and an auction.

Proceeds from the event go to Juvenile Diabetes Association of Atlanta.
