A person was treated for smoke inhalation at a fire Saturday, March 3, in the 600 block of Hillcrest Avenue in Gainesville.

The patient, who was in the house at the time of the fire, was not taken to the hospital.

Gainesville firefighters responded to the fire at 12:20 p.m.

Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke coming from the rear of the house, Gainesville Fire Department spokesman Keith Smith said.

“The fire was held to one room of the residence due to quick suppression efforts,” he said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
