One person was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for smoke inhalation after a fire Tuesday evening.

Hall County Fire Services responded after 5 p.m. Tuesday to the 1700 block of Belair Circle off of Floyd Road, where firefighters saw smoke coming from the residence’s garage.

“The fire was located in the kitchen area and quickly extinguished,” Capt. Zachary Brackett wrote in an email.

Brackett said the damage to the 1,000-square-foot home is an estimated $10,000.

The cause and origin is still under investigation.
