The driver in a crash Monday, Nov. 12, on Interstate 985 arrived at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in stable condition after authorities initially believed he was in critical condition. He and another occupant of the vehicle were pulled from wreckage between mile markers 17 an 18 on I-985 northbound, Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said. One lane was shut down as authorities worked the scene around 5 p.m. The vehicle was traveling northbound on the interstate when it lost control, struck the guardrail and a tree, according to the preliminary investigation. Identities of those involved have not been released.
