Oakwood City Council member Ron McFarland underwent foreclosure on his private residence in August, but remains within the municipal limits and legally qualified to continue serving on the council. McFarland’s former home at 4216 Bob White Lane, in Oakwood, was advertised for sale by public outcry to the highest bidder for a security deed in the original amount of $130,000. Questions have risen over McFarland’s continuing to serve on the City Council, since he now has a Flowery Branch mailing address.
