Northside Hospital-Forsyth has submitted plans to build a new medical office building on the south side of its Women’s Center. The hospital is seeking approval from the Georgia Department of Community Health for a three-story, 75,000-square-foot building that would connect to the center via a glass-enclosed corridor.“We continue to have a great deal of interest in our campus among physicians who want to locate here and be associated with our hospital,” said Skip Putnam, hospital CEO.“Additionally, our women’s services continue to grow and expand and the need for additional obstetricians, gynecologists and other medical specialties continues to increase.”The proposed facility would house physicians from a variety of specialties and practices to support the Women’s Center, which opened in August 2008.“We have received so many positive compliments about the Women’s Center since it opened,” said spokesman Russ Davis, who added that “deliveries have surpassed projections every year.”The hospital plans to break ground in the fall, he said, and the project could be completed by July 2013.
