A cyclist suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being swiped by a passenger car Monday afternoon.

Demetrie Lowery, 34, of Gainesville was riding a bike on the westbound shoulder of Athens Highway near Gaines Mill Road, said Georgia State Patrol Sgt. Anthony Coleman.

A car swiped him and kept going, Coleman said.

Lowery was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with non-life-threatening injuries.

Coleman said a description of the vehicle was unavailable.
