‘No immediate trauma’ on body found in Hoschton park

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said “no immediate trauma” was found during an autopsy of a man found Thursday, Oct. 11 in Hoschton.

Authorities are still investigating the body found in a creek shortly after noon Thursday in Sell’s Mill Park on Jackson Trail Road.

A visitor to the park discovered the body and called 911.

GBI spokeswoman Nelly Miles said the agency is working with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office to gather more details.

“The lab is working to positively identify the male decedent. The projected timeline for a positive ID is next week,” according to the GBI.

The body was sent to the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur for autopsy.
