Newsmaker in business: Kipper Tool Co. earns 5-year contract with U.S. Army

Kipper Tool of Gainesville has received a five-year contract from the U.S. Army for a Fire Control Purging Kit. 

The kits are encased in a waterproof, airtight, heavy-duty container and provide soldiers with all components needed to purge fire control systems. Each kit consists of a toolbox with a hinged lid and various valves, hoses, fittings and regulators. 

The contract is for five years and is expected to produce approximately 800 units. 

Kipper Tool is at 2375 Murphy Blvd. in Gainesville.
