Newsmaker in business: Chelsey Park earns top honors for stroke rehabilitation efforts

Dahlonega’s Chelsey Park Health & Rehabilitation has recently earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Stroke Rehabilitation certification.

The honor is given to organizations that provide safe and effective patient care. The Joint Commission evaluates clinical programs on three core areas: compliance with consensus-based national standards; effective use of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to manage and optimize care; and an organized approach to performance measurement and improvement activities.

“Chelsey Park has thoroughly demonstrated a high level of care for patients who have suffered a stroke,” said Patrick Phelan, executive director of Hospital Business Development for The Joint Commission. “We commend Chelsey Park for becoming a leader in stroke rehabilitation care, potentially providing a higher standard of service for stroke patients in its community.”

Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission accredits and certifies more than 21,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Learn more at
