A two-story addition at the Academies of Discovery will bring the capacity of the former — and future — South Hall Middle School to 1,500 students, Matt Cox, director of facilities, told the Hall County school board Monday. Cox described preliminary drawings for the addition, for a new sidewalk connecting the school to Johnson High School and revamped traffic patterns, especially for buses. The work at AOD, which again will house South Hall Middle School for the 2018-19 school year, will be the beginning of a series of projects leading to creation of a seventh county high school.
