As part of an ongoing construction project, the Georgia Department of Transportation plans to narrow Mundy Mill Road to one lane in each direction under Interstate 985 tonight and the next two nights.
The lanes will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each of the nights, said spokeswoman Teri Pope.
The DOT plans to start setting bridge beams over Mundy Mill Road as part of the I-985 northbound bridge.
Because of the warmer weather, “we have gotten more work done than expected,” Pope said.
The work is part of a $74 million makeover of Interstate 985 at Exit 16 and surrounding roads. The project also includes a new interchange, Exit 17.
The entire project is expected to be completed in December.
