Motorcyclist killed in Sunday crash in Flowery Branch

A Gainesville man was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a pickup truck Sunday in Flowery Branch, according to authorities.

Daniel Kemper Bell, 32, was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Jim Crow Road, while Wilber Joel Chavez-Hernandez, 30, of Robertsdale, Alabama, was headed northbound in a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.

“(The motorcycle) crossed the center line and struck (the truck) on the driver’s side front quarter panel with the front of (the motorcycle),” said Georgia State Patrol Cpl. Josh Hedden in an email.

The pickup truck stopped roughly 30 to 40 feet from the crash site on the right shoulder.

Bell died at the scene, and Chavez-Hernandez suffered minor injuries.

Hedden said no charges will be assessed.
