A Buford motorcyclist was killed Wednesday afternoon after a collision with a car making a left turn, according to Georgia State Patrol.

Eric Nicholas Bellinger, 26, succumbed to his injuries at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville after a crash at McEver Road and Ga. 347, state patrol said.

Bellinger was traveling southbound after 1 p.m. Wednesday on Ga. 347 on a Yamaha motorcycle while approaching the McEver Road intersection.

Another driver, Michel Kuzmowycz, 54, of Buford, drove northbound on Ga. 347 in a 2004 BMW Z4 and entered the left turn lane.

State Patrol Cpl. Nick Jenkins said the BMW struck the motorcycle while making a left turn.

“(The motorcycle) slid across the southbound lanes of Ga. 347 coming to an uncontrolled rest partially blocking the left-turn lane of McEver Road at its intersection with Ga. 347,” Jenkins wrote in an email.

Bellinger was ejected from the motorcycle.

Kuzmowycz was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for injuries sustained in the crash.

Jenkins said the investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed.
