The Hall County Sheriff’s Office responded to another reported lion sighting Friday morning, but deputies have yet to see the animal for themselves, according to Col. Jeff Strickland, the department’s chief deputy.

The report is the third reported sighting of a lion that sheriff’s officials have responded to this week. On Tuesday, a motorist reported seeing a lion roaming Ga. 60 near the Lumpkin County line. Another resident reported seeing one in the Lawton Drive area off Sardis Road about two weeks ago.

Friday’s reported sighting came from Mount Vernon Preserve, Strickland said. Both the sheriff’s office and the Department of Natural Resources responded to the call, but had no contact with the animal, Strickland said.
