The body of a man reported missing from his Buford residence was found less than a mile away from the dwelling three days later on Thursday, March 21.

Jesse Dean Day, 60, was last seen around 3 p.m. Monday, March 18 at his house on Friendship Road.

“Day, who has diminished mental capacity, left on foot and has not been seen or heard from since,” the Hall County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook.

Spokesman Derreck Booth said Day’s body was found in the 3100 block of Heritage Crossing Drive.

"A resident of the neighborhood off of Ga. 347/Friendship Road found the body at roughly 4 p.m. in a wooded area behind a home," Booth wrote in a news release.

The sheriff’s office does not have information on cause of death, but there were no signs of foul play.

Day’s body will go to the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office.
