A man who went missing Wednesday from Gainesville was found Thursday at about 7 p.m. in metro Atlanta.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office had put out a notice that afternoon that Alva Daniel Hand, 77, was last seen on Wednesday at 5115 Deer Path Lane in Gainesville.

Hand has onset dementia, as well as other medical issues that require daily medication, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputy Nicole Bailes said his onset dementia did cause him to get lost.
