From Italian marble flooring in the foyer to high-tech video screens in the staterooms, the funeral home is owner Jack Frost’s showplace.

Frost, who has spent more than half a century in the funeral home and cemetery business, says he incorporated every possible detail in his newest location at 989 Riverside Drive.

"We had families who told us they wanted to use Memorial Park Funeral Home but didn’t want to drive across town," Frost said. "After much consideration, this location became open, and it is absolutely perfect at the dividing point of the two major northbound highways going to Dahlonega and Cleveland."

Since opening its doors, the funeral home already has held a number of funeral services, including one for Frost’s mother who passed away shortly after the establishment opened its doors.

"It was special for me to have her service at this new beautiful place," Frost said.

Frost has incorporated many modern conveniences into his newest funeral home.

"We have relied on a lot of expertise in the planning with attention to details, such as the traffic flow in the building, so that families could be served with ease," he said. "The lighting and sound systems are unsurpassed."

Among the services offered upon request are a video system that can record a service in the funeral home chapel with concealed cameras.

The 325-seat chapel includes a grand piano and a console organ.

The funeral home has been decorated tastefully with large sofas and overstuffed chairs to provide a friendly environment.

"The whole funeral home is lighted where it doesn’t seem drab, as some are," Frost said.

One of the newest features is a programmable message board on the funeral home’s marquee sign. The message board provides passing motorists with information on times for visitation and funeral services for those who use the Northside Chapel.

A dedication service for the new funeral home has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel and will include remarks by U.S. Rep. Nathan Deal, R-Gainesville, Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and a number of public officials from Gainesville and Hall County.

The service will be followed by an open house and tour of the new facility.
