Work to overhaul a portion of McEver Road in Flowery Branch was set to begin about noon Thursday, following a delay earlier this week because of winter weather in the area.
The project stretches from the city limits of Buford to the city limits of Oakwood, or near Rafe Banks Drive. The work will involve using recycled materials to rebuild the road.
The work is expected to take about two months to complete, with crews working mainly from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, weather permitting, according to the county.
“Traffic will be reduced to one lane while crews work, and we do want to warn drivers that they may encounter loose gravel in the area,” Hall County Engineer Kevin McInturff said. “There will be flaggers in the area to direct traffic, as well as additional law enforcement personnel to make sure the transition goes as smoothly as possible.”
