Many local events rescheduled due to ice storm

  • The University of North Georgia’s College Goal Georgia event, originally set for Thursday at the Cumming campus, has been rescheduled to 5:30 p.m. March 5. The free event helps college-bound students and their parents complete forms required to apply for federal financial aid. The campus is located at 300 Aquatic Circle in Cumming.

  • The Gainesville City Council and mayor have rescheduled the Tuesday meeting for 3 p.m. today. It is held in the municipal courtroom of the Public Safety Complex at 701 Queen City Parkway.

  • Those who missed hearings Tuesday and Wednesday before the Board of Equalization due to the weather should call the Hall County Clerk of Courts at 770-531-7025 or 770-533-7673 to reschedule. Hearings were being held today at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Hall County Annex, 116 Spring St., Gainesville.

  • The Gainesville Board of Education meeting that was canceled Tuesday will now be held at 6 p.m. Monday at Gainesville Middle School, 1581 Community Way. An executive session will be held at 5 p.m.
