A woman is accused of stabbing her boyfriend in the chest Saturday night at the Hometown Studio Suites in Gainesville.

Charles Cummings, 51, was still in critical condition as of 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 16, after he was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center on Saturday, July 14.

Gainesville Police officers responded around 10 p.m. Saturday to the Jesse Jewell Parkway extended-stay hotel.

Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said Monday investigators took Cummings’ girlfriend, Takesha Davis, 34, into custody the same night and charged her with aggravated battery under the Family Violence Act.

Holbrook said the two lived at the hotel, but he was unaware if anyone else was present at the time of the stabbing.
