A man shot the glass front door of a Dawsonville Highway store Sunday, Aug. 26, before coming in and taking cash, police said.

Gainesville Police are looking for a suspect in the 11:27 p.m. Sunday robbery at Ross Dress for Less. Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said the man was wearing dark clothing and had his face concealed.

“We are working on getting a possible description together to release,” he said.

Employees were still in the store when the man shot through the door. No one was injured.

"(The employees) were going through their closing procedures. The store was locked and secured,” Holbrook said. “It appears the individual shot the glass door in an attempt to gain entry.”

Holbrook said the suspect took an “undisclosed amount of cash” before leaving the scene.

The store’s district manager, Daniel Lumbard, did not say how much money was stolen and did not have an estimate for damage to the store.
