A Cleveland man was charged with stealing a car from a Dawsonville Highway home after leading White County authorities on a brief chase, officials said Friday.

Sgt. Kiley Sargent said deputies on Wednesday responded to a burglar alarm in the 3300 block of Dawsonville Highway. The garage door to the home was missing and the owner’s 1996 Ford Mustang was missing.

The same car was later involved in a pursuit in White County, where Cleveland police were able to capture the driver. Hall County Sheriff’s investigators went to White County and charged Billy Eugene Millwood III, 29, with burglary and theft by taking motor vehicle.
