A man was arrested today in the theft of more than a dozen bronze animal statues from Memorial Park Funeral Home, sheriff’s officials said.

Deputies from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jeffery Shane Moore, 48, at the 2000 block of Dawsonville Highway in Gainesville.

The statues were reported stolen from the funeral home on Nov. 6 and were valued at more than $20,000, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Investigators recovered several of the statues during the arrest, sheriff’s office spokesman Sgt. Mark Mitchell said.

Moore is being held in the Hall County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

Additional charges are pending in the ongoing investigation, Mitchell said.
