Man arrested after death of shooting victim

A Gainesville shooting victim is now dead and a suspect has been arrested, both nearly three weeks after the initial incident.

Leshan Tremiele Tanner, 42, of Gainesville, has been charged with one count of felony murder in the shooting of Cedric Antonio Huff, 41, also of Gainesville, according to a Gainesville Police Department news release.

Huff was shot in the abdomen on June 5 at a residence in the 300 block of West Avenue. He was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where he underwent surgery.

He was pronounced dead Saturday at Northeast Georgia Medical Center due to the injuries from the shooting, according to police. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation will conduct an autopsy for further investigation.

Tanner was arrested and booked into the Hall County Detention Center Sunday.
