Restrooms and elevators at the Main Street parking deck will not be open Friday as previously planned, according to city spokeswoman Nikki Perry.

It’s unknown when the restrooms and elevators will open.

"There has been a delay in receiving parts necessary to finish elevator construction, which will prevent the elevators from opening for several more weeks. It is an unfortunate circumstance that could not be avoided. We are working hard to get this project completed so the public can fully enjoy the newly expanded parking deck," Perry said in an email.

In September, the deck closed so two new floors could be added, and the first three floors opened in November. All six floors of the parking deck in downtown Gainesville have been open since February.

The deck has about 600 spaces.

All the deck’s stairwells are open.
