Lumpkin County couple charged with growing marijuana

A Lumpkin County couple is accused of running a marijuana growhouse.At a home at 2585 Camp Wahsega Road north of Dahlonega, authorities found 174 marijuana plants and 3 pounds of marijuana ready for distribution, altogether valued at more than $360,000, according to the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities also found 24 firearms, seven grow lights, five power inverters, a dehydrator and a vacuum bag sealer.The search, completed with the assistance of the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, was initiated following an anonymous complaint.Robert Cartee, 53, and his wife, Tracey Diamond Cartee, 50, were arrested.
