Three people were sent to a hospital in Gainesville on Tuesday after a two-vehicle wreck in Lula, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
A Chevrolet truck traveling south on Carter Street stopped but then failed to yield the right of way to a 1995 Mack concrete truck traveling west on Athens Street, said Trooper Jonathan S. Munger of the patrol.
After the front of the concrete truck struck the left front of the Chevy, the concrete truck overturned and rolled down an embankment on the north shoulder of Athens Street. The Chevy came to rest facing south in the westbound lane of Athens Street.
The driver of the Chevy was ejected from the vehicle, but the passenger was trapped and had to be extricated. The driver of the concrete truck was not seriously injured, Munger said.
All three were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for evaluation, he said.
