A Lula woman is in jail, charged with aggravated assault after authorities say she hit a man with whom she lives with an ax.

According to Lt. Scott Ware, Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Kaci Lavonne Gibbs, 32, on Tuesday, May 14, on an outstanding warrant.

Ware wrote in an email that Gibbs is accused of striking the man on his hand at the home they share in the 6300 block of River Plantation Drive in Lula on May 4.

Ware said the victim received a severe cut to his hand, which required emergency medical treatment.

Gibbs was arrested without incident and booked in to the Hall County Jail. No bond has been set, according to Ware.

Ware said he was unaware of what preceded the alleged assault or of a motive.

No attorney was listed for Gibbs with Hall County Magistrate Court officials.

This case remains under investigation.
