The Lula City Council has approved an engineer for the second phase of downtown depot renovations, which will include designs for parking spaces and sidewalks.
Rindt-McDuff Associates was awarded the $24,209 project on Friday. The engineering firm also did designs for the first phase of depot renovations.
The firm will create plans for landscaping, adjustments on Wall Street for on-street parking and land disturbance permitting. While the stage will be renovated, that will be done in the third phase of the project.
“We’re going to be making a number of improvements as far as the grading on the property, the landscaping on the property. … sidewalks … and then additional parking,” City Manager Dennis Bergin said.
The renovations will likely be done over the summer.
