The annual Friends of Hall County Library used book sale starts today and continues Sunday.

Fiction and nonfiction books, along with children’s books, videos and other media, will be among the items for sale.

The sale will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the Gainesville branch of the Hall County Library. The building is at 127 Main St.

Most books cost 50 cents to $1. But the “fire sale” will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, allowing shoppers to fill a paper grocery bag with as many books as they can for $5.

Funds from the sale will benefit the library system’s children’s programs. Specifically, the money will fund the Summer Reading Program, teen activities, adult initiatives, staff training and other improvements not funded by state or county funds.
