The Hall County Sheriff’s Office have identified the woman found dead in Lake Lanier on Friday as Michelle Dianne Baxter, 32, of Gainesville. Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks said the victim was found face down in the lake by fishermen just after 8 a.m. on the northern end of Lanier near the Chattahoochee River arm near newly opened Don Carter State Park. The victim was removed from the lake by members of the Hall County Dive Team and transported to the DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s office for autopsy.
