A Lanier Technical College student and Northeast Georgia Medical Center employee died Wednesday after a one-vehicle wreck in Franklin County. Carlye Lynn Elrod, 20, of Demorest lost control of her car and overcorrected while traveling north about 12:30 p.m. on Ga. 164, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Her 2003 Pontiac Sunfire left the east shoulder of the road and hit a tree, according to the patrol, and Elrod was taken to Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center in Lavonia.
