An overnight lane closure is planned as part of the Longstreet Bridge replacement project.

The lane on Cleveland Highway/U.S. 129 is set to close from midnight Thursday, Sept. 26, to 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The closure will allow construction crews to continue pouring the concrete driving surface of the new bridge.

Traffic will be directed by flagging operators between Briarwood Drive and Thompson Mill Road.

The new bridge is expected to open in late December, the DOT has said.
