Jury selection will continue this morning for a Father’s Day 2013 shooting case.

Saul Castillo was charged with malice murder, allegedly shooting Silverio Acosta, of Gainesville, at a Tadmore Park soccer game.

Superior Court Judge Kathlene Gosselin granted Castillo a new trial in July 2016 after the retrieval of New York medical records.

According to authorities, the shooting happened June 16, 2013, at the Gillsville Highway park. Hall County marshals working security stopped Castillo trying to leave the area, according to authorities.

Authorities later said they believed the two men had history that went back to El Salvador. With only 18 jurors qualified for the panel thus far, defense attorney Larry Duttweiler said the case would resume jury selection this morning.
