Vendors offering a range of items including fishing tackle, kayaks, cooking spices and walking sticks drew hundreds to the inaugural Outdoor Expo on Saturday.

The event was put on by The Times and its sister publications the Forsyth County News and Dawson County News on Aug. 24 at 6140 Events, a venue between Cumming and Dawsonville.

RVs, golf carts and food trucks were lined up outside, colorful balloons matched the outdoor theme and door prizes were offered throughout the day as JB Jams filled the air with music.

Door prize winners will be contacted Monday, including the winner of a golf cart from Lanier Carts & Outdoors.

The newspapers plan for the expo to become an ongoing event for the community.
