Some new housing is coming to Forrest Avenue in Gainesville.

Four two-story, rental townhomes are planned at 230 Forrest Ave., said Frank Norton Jr., chairman and CEO of The Norton Agency.

“They will have large porches overlooking a courtyard in the back,” he said.

Each home will have two bedrooms, 2 ½ bathrooms and fireplaces.

Rental prices could run $1,100 to $1,200 per month, Norton said.

The development, known as Liberty Forrest, is between Bradford and Green streets near downtown.

Grading has taken place on the lot, with the homes ready by summer, weather permitting, Norton said.

The property previously had two rental homes, which were demolished, Gainesville Planning Manager Matt Tate said.
