Avocados Restaurant in downtown Gainesville has taken an exotic turn.
David Camalier, general manager of Avocados, said the owner will open a new business next door in around five weeks.
The menu will offer Mediterranean-inspired fare, served during lunch and dinner. Camalier has yet to reveal the specific dishes.
“This is 100% a different entity under the same umbrella of Avocados,” Camalier said. ‘We’ll have a different menu and a separate kitchen.”
The place will include a patio space and seat up to 60 people.
Camalier said the name for the new restaurant is still up for debate.
“We have a couple of names out there, but we want to get the local folks’ suggestions,” he said. “They’re going to be eating there, so we want to get the community involved in its development.”
He encourages people to share their name ideas by commenting on posts about the renovations via Avocados’ Facebook page.
