About 600 Gainesville power customers lost power shortly before 3 p.m. today, but that number quickly dropped below 200.
Georgia Power representatives said power should be returned to all customers by about 4 p.m., as they were rerouting power to affected customers.
According to Georgia Power, the outage began when an insulator broke, causing two electrical wires to become entangled.
Crews are still working on the problem.
