Hall gets state loan for new landfill treatment system
County plans to replace broken leachate system

Frequent rain showers are only adding to Hall County’s headache of treating water contaminated from hitting the Candler Road landfill. Hall County was awarded a $1.2 million Georgia Fund loan from the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority last week that will allow the county to replace its broken leachate system, which treats the water that touches the landfill. The loan will finance construction of a 20,000-gallon-per-day treatment facility.
