Pedestrians and bicyclists are taking advantage of a finished section of the “Highlands to Islands” trail near Chicopee Mill Village, even as more work has yet to be done. Workers have completed pouring a concrete sidewalk from Palmour Drive near Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport in Gainesville to south of Elachee Drive. From Palmour Drive, the trail travels through a scenic patch of woods and over a trestle built as part of the $2.3 million project.
