Hall County officials are now moving unilaterally on a proposal to scrap the Civil Service Board after the proposal stalled in the state legislature. The board hears and decides disciplinary appeals brought by terminated or demoted employees. County officials want to replace the board with a single administrative hearing officer and plan to hold two votes in June to approve the necessary change to the Hall County Civil Service System Act.
